Responsive Web Design & GitHub Submission Guidelines
ARTICLE • 30 minutes
During the next 14 days, you are required to complete the Responsive Web Design Certification on freeCodeCamp while simultaneously practicing Git and GitHub Fundamentals.
Learning Approach
As you progress through the Responsive Web Design course, complete all lessons, workshops, and projects directly on freeCodeCamp. The purpose of GitHub is not to store every lesson or exercise, but to document and showcase your major work.
GitHub Repository Requirements
Create the following two GitHub repositories:
responsive-web-design-workshops
This repository will contain all workshops completed during the course.
responsive-web-design-certification-projects
This repository will contain the certification project required for the Responsive Web Design Certification.
When to Push Your Work
Whenever you complete a workshop or certification project on freeCodeCamp:
Recreate or copy the completed project into Visual Studio Code (VS Code).
Organize the project files properly (HTML, CSS, images, etc.).
Test the project locally to ensure it works correctly.
Commit your changes using Git.
Push the project to the appropriate GitHub repository.
GitHub Commit Expectations
Participants should make regular commits throughout the program. Each commit should represent meaningful progress and include a clear commit message.
Examples:
Initial repository setup
Added Tribute Page project
Completed Survey Form project
Updated Product Landing Page styling
Added Personal Portfolio project
Final Submission Requirements
At the end of the 14-day Phase 1 program, each participant must submit:
Responsive Web Design Certification from freeCodeCamp.
Link to the Workshop Repository.
Link to the Certification Projects Repository.
All repositories must be public and accessible.
Submit on or before 23 August 2026.
